Just Like Every Other Little Boy/Man

Another 100 word story.

This came about as I was talking with a few friends (different times and conversations) in regards to dreams, and what we had originally wanted to be as children.

Enjoy!

01/21/2014 (Tuesday)- Just Like Every Other Little Boy/Man

Gregor was four and fearless and a dreamer, just like every other little boy.

Trees were practice for the mountains he would climb, half-filled kiddy pools the oceans he would explore, and pulling cat tails as training to be fearless in front of lions.

Just like every other little boy.

               He grew up.

Met his first bully.  Lost his first love.  Rejected.  Failed.

Gregor is thirty-four and tired and works in an office 7 a.m.- 6p.m., just like every other little man.

The mountains are too far, too tall.

The oceans too deep, too dark.

The lions?

Toothless and old.
