Rote in Silver

Trying my hand in poetry again just for the heck of it, here's the late saturday story.  Had wayyyy too much fun playing board games (Small World, Fiasco- not... really... a board game) with some friends.  Laughed way too hard that I ended up with another headache.

Today is just a hermit day for me as I continue to write, finish up an editing project for a friend, and put up my sunday project later.

Enjoy!

09/07/2013 (Saturday)- Rote in Silver

I rote words with a silver dip pen,
Words flowed from page to page.
I put belief in lies, again and again,
I asked true words step offstage.

I rote words with a silver dip pen,
Words dyed in crimson as I scratched.
I put down a morning song sang by a wren,
I asked its eggs when they’d hatch.

I rote words with a silver dip pen,
Words abused by a Calico and a Fox.
I stopped, and found myself in a Fox’s den,
I stopped caring, returning to my box.

I rote words with a silver dip pen…
